Police Reports

The Records Division

Records Division is the central repository of records to meet the needs of the Red Bank Police Department and the public we serve. Records also provide information to other law enforcement agencies as requested. With over 15,000 police reports and related documents generated annually by the Police Department, Records is tasked with the responsibility of managing and collecting data for state (Tennessee Incident Based Reporting System (TIBRS)) and national (National Crime Information Center (NCIC)) crime statistics reporting. The Records Division also assists the general public in obtaining copies of reports, expunging records, and answering questions regarding towed and/or seized vehicles.

Request a Report From the Police Department

Please allow a minimum of 5 to 10 business days for reports to be available.

Police Reports, traffic crash reports, and other documents can be obtained by contacting the Records Division. It is recommended that you call 423-874-0088 or email the Records Office first to verify that your report is available prior to coming to the police department. Persons or representatives not listed on the report will be required to submit an open records request either online or in person. Crash reports may also be obtained by purchasing online through the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security.

  1. Download the Police Report Request (PDF) and email the completed form to the Red Bank Police Department.
  2. If you are an involved person in the report email the Records Office with:
    • Your name
    • Report or Case number
    • Date of the incident
    • Location/address of the incident
    • Is this for a Crash or other incident that was reported?

Background Checks

The Red Bank Police Department can perform a local background check for individuals. You may come to the Police Department during normal business hours to fill out a background request form. For a statewide background check contact the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. For a national background check contact the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Police Impound

All questions regarding impounded vehicles should be directed to the Office Manager by calling 423-874-0088 or email the Records Department.

Property or Evidence

All questions regarding seized property, unclaimed property, or evidence should be directed to by calling 423-874-0088, emailing the Records Division, or calling the Property and Evidence Custodian 423-875-0167, ext. 2101.
